Restoration of a prewar apartment
West 110th Street
Working with designer,
Laura Tobocman …
Not only have we joined forces with Laura, first, on her daughter’s Upper West Side apartment, but we also had a chance to team up on a Lincoln Center apartment for her daughter’s co-worker, Evelyn, and her husband, Stephen.
One of the projects we chose to highlight and feature here is floor, wall and ceiling restoration-work performed at her own west side, prewar apartment.
Here, the essential-work and unforgettable take-away at Laura’s was coming-up with and implementing a system for permanently eliminating consistent build-up between original planks of wood-flooring; creatively restoring, hand-painting and re-staining faded floor-color in master-bedroom and in her kitchen; and then, finally, buffing and sealing new flooring work. Upon completion, we’ve also managed to put in place a simple floor-maintenance program that she can do herself.
Thanks Laura, most especially, for the times you’ve stepped-in and worked, together with our crew, as Project Designer.
